Bobby Lashley’s long journey leads him to WWE championship: “Legacy of my career”

It was a winding journey but Bobby Lashley has finally climbed to the top of the World Wrestling Entertainment mountain.

Lashley, who resides in Parker, joined the ranks of pro wrestling legends such as Bruno Sammartino and “Macho Man” Randy Savage on Monday after he thrashed, mashed and flattened The Miz in the main event of “WWE Raw” to win the championship. In the process, he became the first pro wrestler from Colorado to hold the WWE’s premier title.

“It is surreal, man. It is probably one of the greatest moments in my athletic career,” he told The Denver Post
